What Is An Ulcer?
An ulcer is damage to the stomach wall lining. All horses are susceptible to the forming of ulcers, performance horses being especially susceptible.
Stance Equitec UlcaBuf UlcaBuf Ingredients:
Curcumin Xanthorrhiza – A rare and important form of turmeric where research shows that when fed to horses may suppress the formation of stomach ulcers.
Actigen – A strain of yeast containing Mannan Oligosaccharides (MOS). MOS are considered a prebiotic which may promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria and improve digestive health.
Calcareous Marine Algae (Calmin) – Is harvested from red algae from the ocean off the coast of Iceland. It is a rich source of minerals. Research has shown that this has a significant buffering action for 4-6 hours under simulated in vitro stomach digestion conditions and also simulated in vitro hindgut fermentation activities.
Yea Sacc – Is a probiotic that may work symbiotically with Actigen (a prebiotic) to help promote beneficial bacteria and fibre digestion in the hindgut as well as helping to stabilise hindgut pH.
Powdered coconut oil (PowerStance) – Has been included as it may assist in the absorption of Curcumin Xan, while providing anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
